Spotlight on Assessment

Submitted by Susan Archambault on September 2, 2016 - 5:22pm

How do you assess your information literacy instruction program? Do you use standardized tests, rubrics, or surveys? This month, we have added a bunch of information literacy assessment tools to the Teaching Toolkit section!

Check out the Threshold Achievement Test for Information Literacy, ETS Proficiency Profile, and SAILS for fixed-choice tests. Alternatively, Collegiate Learning Assessment and iSkills are performance tests, while the NSF Critical Thinking Assessment Test  and Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency involve writing. If your school administers the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), check out the Topical Module on Info Lit!

Have you created your own assessment that closely aligns with your instructional goals? Want to share it with the CORA community? Suggest it as a teaching resource or contact CORA!
