Citing an Assignment in CORA

To cite an assignment in CORA, you can use the "Suggested Citation" listed for each assignment. This includes the following information:

Author Name, Name of Assignment, CORA (Community of Online Research Assignments), Date, URL of exact assignment (if applicable).

Examples:

MLA

Author’s name, last name first. Title of assignment, enclosed in quotation marks.  CORA (Community of Online Research Assignments), in italics.  Date of publication. Medium (e.g., Web).  Date of access (Month day year).

Example: Scheibel, Dean.  “Using Comics to Reflect on Academic Work.”  CORA (Community of Online Research Assignments). 2015.  Web.  August 15, 2015.

APA

Author’s last name and initials.  Date of publication (if given).  Title of assignment, followed by “In” and CORA (Community of Online Research Assignments (in italics).  “Retrieved from” followed by URL.

Example: Scheibel, D. (2015).  Using comics to reflect on academic work.  In CORA (Community of Online Research Assignments). Retrieved from http://www.projectcora.org/assignment/using-comics-reflect-academic-work

Chicago

Author’s name, last name first. Title of assignment, enclosed in quotation marks. CORA (Community of Online Research Assignments) in italics and followed by a comma, Date. URL.

Example: Scheibel, Dean. “Using Comics to Reflect on Academic Work.”  CORA (Community of Online Research Assignments), 2015. http://www.projectcora.org/assignment/using-comics-reflect-academic-work.
